There is a trend for more low key and intimate weddings and let me say this, I think they are fabulous!!
This wedding was based on a recommendation by an awesome band I follow (thanks guys) and I'm so glad they did.
I rocked up at Irina's flat nice and early. There were still preparations happening but it was all in a relaxed ambience.
i took a few photos, but also scouted around the garden as they said they wanted to get a few group shots there.
Soon after, we headed off to the registrar office. The first thing I noticed was the warm colours of the wall, even though the building was relatively small, it did look big inside. The Staircase was an obviousl place to take a photo, however I didn't want it to be too easy (where's the fun in that), so I took a few calibration shots just to see what angles I could get. In the end, I took some standard and creative shots as the couple walked up the stairs; I asked Mark to walk slightly behind Irina. Even though I planned for the walk up to be a bit slower, I made a judgment call to just let them walk naturally, after all those are always the BEST photos.
After the ceremony, we all went to some nearby gardens; it was quite entertaining as it was a busy day and lots of people wished the couple many congratulations; Irina and Mark felt like celebrities for the day.
We found a nice quiet corner of the park with a fountain and bench, and I proceeded to take the group shots there.
Irina looked divine and Mark looked very proud. A fantastic day out, everyone had a great time especially the newly weds...
...this photographer had a great day to remember too :-)
